My statement 3/17/20

WARNING–Scammers are looking to take advantage of you! Some non .gov corona information websites will infect your computer with a virus–No one needs another virus right now!!! Visit the FTC on scams. Be advised that there has been reports in New Hampshire of people coming to your home pretending to be from the Red Cross and advertising they are authorized to do free home tests. This is NOT true! Do not allow them in your home and call your local authorities immediately.

Ideas for Librarians to use and share:

*Create a hashtag for families to follow the virtual program offerings throughout the next few weeks.

*Want to take your library online–instead of reading a book:

– Portsmouth Public Library is doing sing alongs with our ukulele playing librarian, demonstrating how to make homemade playdough and doing fun posts so they can see how smiling faces!  (Thanks Gretyl and all your staff)

*Start a virtual reading club with the eBooks K-8 and create a group page for discussions.  CSLPs Imagine Your Story resources are now available for you to use for library programming year-round, as well as the past 2 thematic years.

*Stuck In My Castle Bingo You may share this with your patrons just for fun or set-up a challenge where people return it at the beginning of your summer reading program in return for “what ever you decide.”

*Library Pandemic Bingo by Brittany Shanahan, Head of Young Adult Services
Hall Memorial Library, Northfield NH. Contact her with a photo of your library as she is open to changing out the picture on the bingo.
