About the workshop:
The workshop will begin with a brief performance.  This will be followed by a discussion of different types of puppets and uses of puppets.  Participants will then have the opportunity for hands on work with puppets to learn puppetry techniques.  This includes movement using fingers, wrists and arms followed by mouth movement and “voices”.  The participants then perform very short skits to practice these techniques.  A wide variety of puppets for the participants to see and work with will be on hand.
